The Face is the first thing people look at when they look at a doll and its one of the most challenging things to make when learning about doll making. I have beginning dollmakers use face molds or premade faces. Ultimately you want to learn how to make your own faces. This takes time and lots of experimentation and practice.
Face Push Molds - In United States - Minnesota I personally like Maureen Carlson’s Push Molds High quality and easy to use. I used her F21, F22, F23 which are 2 and ¼ “ face molds There may be others you like as well. www.weefolk.com/molds_list.htm Maureen also sells on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/shop/MaureenCarlsonStudio?ref=l2-about-shopname There are other Face Mold makers on Etsy, they tend to be smaller than Maureen's. Check sizes and prices before ordering. If you live in Australia or New Zealand check out Molds by Merilyn https://www.moldsbymerilyn.com.au/ I have ordered from her and her quality is good She has an indigenious faces and others molds that might interest you to use in your dolls. Shipping takes 10 to 25 days to receive. Pre-made Clay Faces Lots of dollmakers like her faces Lyn Belisle's EarthShards Etsy store I love these faces for my really earthy dolls or more spiritual theme. |
