As a woman navigates the stages of her life, she may encounter feelings of powerlessness, anger, frustration, shame, and even loneliness. She might feel invisible and disconnected from her body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Questions may arise within her: What is wrong with me? Who am I? What am I here to do in the world?
The Healing Doll Way online classes offers experiential, hands on learning opportunities, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring from Barb Kobe, along with support from the Healing Doll Way community. Through this journey, you'll learn how to design and create your own healing dolls using intentional creativity and expressive arts processes, crafting three-dimensional healing art dolls and exploring intuitive art practices.
The Healing Doll Way book has empowered hundreds of women around the world to discover their own creative healing power. This experiential book invites the reader to embark on a transformative journey through introspective explorations of archetypes, metaphors, and symbolism.

I have pulled your book out one more time - and tried to get the courage to work with it. I'm an astrologer interested in the great turning where for the first time in over 2000 years Uranus/Saturn conjunction went from a earth sign to a fire sign and all the implications that means for society. I'm feeling the need for these dolls as I search through collective rage and impotence. During the 1980s I worked for the IRS processing farm forms of the farm crisis and watched a whole group of people lose power and voice, I was active in the housing collapse of 2008 and watched black people lose 46% of their collective wealth, as a wife I learned the fear of the Tuskegee experiment. I'm not an unimaginative or weak person. I feel what you are offering will help me to help better the world with a deep sense of commitment that I feel (being a Nazarene and you can go to heaven on good works (sometimes). I just want to thank you for all the hard work you have put into helping women find the voice they need to have to speak.

Last winter, I spent many enjoyable weeks making a Guardian doll. This year I will tackle the Scapegoat, or Shadow doll. The author gives lots of examples in beautiful color illustrations by a variety of contributors. The text is clear and thought-provoking. She doesn't give instructions for specific dolls. Rather, she presents an archetype and has you design your own doll, according to your own skills and your own psychology. Brilliant!
The Healing Doll Way is a treasure. The illustrations alone are beautiful and inspiring. But Barb’s offering is beyond the visual. I’ve been blessed to have Barb mentor me through the healing process detailed in this book. This book was long overdue. So many books have been written about the benefits of healing arts but for me this one is outstanding because it explains in an incredibly good structure how one can overcome struggles in life through creating healing dolls. For me as a therapist for transformative therapy using art and as a sculptor this is the perfect book to have. I have been in touch with the author who is a very inspiring woman, you can feel that she authored the book with love, wisdom, and passion. It is an excellent book for women who want to transform their life, find purpose, heal themselves and their environment but also for therapists.
The images are wonderful and the list of questions at the end of every chapter adds a practical element. Absolutely recommend, a definite buy-IN HARD COPY!
