Love this book! I love making dolls for myself but was feeling like a crazy old doll lady. This book helped reframe my efforts as "therapy." Everyone needs a little therapy, right? Last winter, I spent many enjoyable weeks making a Guardian doll. This year I will tackle the Scapegoat, or Shadow doll. The author gives lots of examples in beautiful color illustrations by a variety of contributors. The text is clear and thought-provoking. She doesn't give instructions for specific dolls. Rather, she presents an archetype and has you design your own doll, according to your own skills and your own psychology. Brilliant!

This book was long overdue. So many books have been written about the benefits of healing arts but for me this one is outstanding because it explains in an incredibly good structure how one can overcome struggles in life through creating healing dolls. For me as a therapist for transformative therapy using art and as a sculptor this is the perfect book to have. I have been in touch with the author who is a very inspiring woman, you can feel that she authored the book with love, wisdom, and passion. It is an excellent book for women who want to transform their life, find purpose, heal themselves and their environment but also for therapists.
The images are wonderful and the list of questions at the end of every chapter adds a practical element. Absolutely recommend, a definite buy-IN HARD COPY!
