The Healing Doll Way Online Class
The Healing Doll Way is a year-long online class based on my book The Healing Doll Way: A Guided Process Creating Art Dolls for Self-Discovery, Awareness and Transformation.
The Healing Doll Way is an intuitive, creative process in which I serve as guide, coach, and mentor you and class participants. It is an online class where I use the book, The Healing Doll Way, as the anatomy for the process and as a transformational path. It is a comprehensive training that encourages you to trust your intuition as you create art and engage with the process. The online program includes forty-eight weeks of education, inspiration, coaching, group engagement, art, and dollmaking to motivate you as you move through the stages of Discovery, Self-Awareness, and Transformation.
In 2000 I wrote a college research paper that was the inspiration for my healing dolls curriculum and book. In 2006 I launched the Healing Doll Project using Yahoo Groups. Since then, the healing doll process/class has gone through many iterations. Over 400 hundred women, both in person and online, have made art dolls with the Healing Doll Way process. We use the book as a guide and workbook. The class will also include ZOOM video conferences and coaching calls, including finely tuned and tested visualizations, intuitive, self-connecting artmaking activities, and ever evolving practices in self-discovery, awareness, intuition, expressive art healing and transformation.

Why Make Healing Dolls?
You can change how you see yourself making a doll. You can talk to yourself using a doll that you made. You can use the imagery of dollmaking— “thoughts and feelings in concrete visual form”—to focus your energy into evolving new ways of being and doing. The dolls you make will be symbols of an emotion, a feeling, a sensation, a struggle, or a celebration. A self-made doll, a figurative form, honors something sacred outside or within you.
Dollmaking is different than any other form of art. The experiences allow you to hold a part of yourself in your hands in the form of a three-dimensional figurative piece of art. You will see yourself in the doll. She will represent an aspect of the human condition and your stories. Your doll—the doll that you make—will bear witness to your life, sharing your feelings and embodying your worth.
My Story
You may have read my story in the The Healing Doll Way book. There's more! Making healing dolls has been a way of coming home to myself. As I formed each one, I moved through my emotions and feelings, confronted parts of myself that were in the way, and released old stories. At first, I resisted creating these healing images and sometimes felt lost, but my intuitive guidance would gently nudge me to take creative risks and break through to the images and symbols that wanted to emerge. These dolls taught me that my sensitivity was my healing superpower.
As I made each healing doll, my body awakened. The process of creating reconnected me with long lost parts of myself and with my golden, creative soul. I learned that if I stayed with what was emerging as stuffed feelings, pain, symptoms, or old stories, I would experience a shift within me. Gradually, I gained the creative courage to allow my voice, my hands, and my heart to be partners in the process. I realized that this very intimate, physical process of making healing dolls was awakening my natural ability to tell whether I was harming or loving myself.
When I acknowledged what was going on in my body, mind, and spirit, my ability to sense pleasure in life increased. I felt satisfied, even joyful, about these images that were created from my heart, feelings, and soul. I was able to inhabit my whole self, realizing that all my stories, feelings, sensations, and symptoms were fuel for the journey of coming home to my authentic self.
